The Loctudy cannery has been saved from the ravages of time thanks to the efforts of Jean-Philippe Chapalain and his wife Marie-Christine Le Gall, one of Alexis Le Gall's granddaughters. The project to save the cannery was taken up and supported by the commune of Loctudy with the committed support of a network of public and private partners. The factory and all its machines, furniture and tools were classified as a historical monument in 2016.
